Donna Brown Wallace, age 77, of Jefferson City, TN and formerly of Knoxville, TN passed away 2:00 a.m. October 27, 2013 at Physicians Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Member of First Baptist Church, Dandridge. Donna and her husband, Dr. Homer Wallace, dedicated their lives to doing the Lord’s work serving the Salvation Army and Rescue Missions. She was recognized by a Nashville newspaper as the “Mother of the Homeless." She was very active at the Chandler House as the activity director, volunteering even after she retired. Preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Alice Brown; brother, David Brown. Survived by loving husband of 52 years, Dr. Homer Wallace; son, Max (Lacy) Wallace of Knoxville; daughter, Melissa (Allan) Blalock of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Kristin, Claire, and Max, Jr.; great grandchildren, Gunnar and Charleston; sister, Bonnie Turner of Knoxville; brother, Richard Brown of CA; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City with Dr. Bruce Coyle and Dr. Robert Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
