Donna Gay Owenby

Donna Gay Owenby, age 66 of Chestnut Hill, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family, on the morning of Wednesday, July 24, 2024.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and nana; as her family meant everything to her. She enjoyed going to the movies, playing putt-putt, and spending time with her grandchildren & great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Don & Wanda Clevenger; her mamaw, Ruth Thornton; and grandmother, Frances “Fannie” Clevenger. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, George Owenby; children, Amanda “Mandy” (Barry) McGaha, Jeremy (Heidi) Owenby, and Clint Owenby; grandchildren, Devin (Danielle) McGaha, Shayce McGaha, Ally Smelcer, Dre Owenby, Deanna, Daven, & Raven, and Keaston Owenby; great-grandchildren, Cali, Cam, and Cazlyn McGaha, Lincoln Owens, and Rinley Smelcer; brothers, Randy (Libby) Clevenger & Tony (Kim) Clevenger; niece, Danielle (Erik) Trent; great-niece, Kenzli Trent; several extended family members and friends, including Caryn Wilds.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 1:00PM at the Chestnut Hill Cemetery with Pastor Shannon Coleman officiating. The family would like to express their appreciation for the kindness and care shown by Smoky Mountain Home Health & Hospice.
