DONNA GIBSON DAVIS, age 57, of New Market, TN passed away at home on Saturday, September 24, 2005 after a nine month battle with cancer, surrounded by family and friends, and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born December 4, 1947 in Knoxville, grew up in the Mount Olive area, and graduated from Young High School in 1965. After attending Carson Newman College, she married, moved to Morristown, and was pianist and faithful member at Manley Baptist Church for 31 years. She was the former proprietress of Arrowhill Bed and Breakfast in Talbott and was the current proprietress of the Arrowhill Accents boutiques. At the time of her death, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Dandridge. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel R. and Dorothy Ballinger Gibson of Knoxville. She is survived by her beloved husband of 39 years, Gary H. Davis; sons, Jeffrey J. Davis of Front Royal, Virginia, and Kevin W. Davis of Chicago, Illinois; brother and sister-in-law, Martin and Tonya Gibson of Crossville; nephews, Justin Gibson and Cason Morris of Crossville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred and Dorothy Davis of Seymour; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, R. Gale and Beth Davis of Louisville; special aunts, Elwanda Dalton and Phyllis Reed of Knoxville; aunt, Nettie Hilbun of Youngstown, Ohio; uncle, Don McGahey of Rockville, Maryland; and numerous cousins. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at First Baptist Church of Dandridge with Dr. Robert D. McCray officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at Knob Creek Cemetery in Seymour for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her memory to either the St. Mary?s Foundation, 900 E. Oak Hill Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37917, or to the Music Ministry of First Baptist Church Dandridge, 951 Hwy 92, Dandridge, TN 37725.
