Donnie was a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church and served as Past Master of French Broad Lodge #588. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railway after 38 years, where he served as president of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen Union #110. He was a proud member of the 1st Calvary Division 11th Air Assault, United States Army, Vietnam War. Preceded in death by mother, Neva Riley; grandmother, Nora Dance, and father, Earnest Riley. Survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Joyce Cate Riley; three sons and their wives, D. Madison "Matt" and Rajayna Riley, Spencer and Beth Riley, Rocky and Natalea Riley; grandchildren, Madison, Jackson, Catelyn and Tucker; siblings, Jim Riley, Brenda and Wayne McCall, Ronald and Marlene Riley; aunt, Sylvia Hickman. Graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2008 at Beech Springs Cemetery with East Tennessee Honor Guard and French Broad Lodge #588 officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening, January 30, 2008 at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City.
