OBITUARY:
DONALD ALVIN RILEY, age 66, of New Market, TN passed away Monday, January 28, 2008 as the result of complications of renal failure due to exposure to Agent Orange. Donnie was a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church and served as Past Master of French Broad Lodge #588. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railway after 38 years, where he served as president of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen Union #110. He was a proud member of the 1st Calvary Division 11th Air Assault, United States Army, Vietnam War. Preceded in death by mother, Neva Riley; grandmother, Nora Dance, and father, Earnest Riley. Survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Joyce Cate Riley; three sons and their wives, D. Madison "Matt" and Rajayna Riley, Spencer and Beth Riley, Rocky and Natalea Riley; grandchildren, Madison, Jackson, Catelyn and Tucker; siblings, Jim Riley, Brenda and Wayne McCall, Ronald and Marlene Riley; aunt, Sylvia Hickman. Graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2008 at Beech Springs Cemetery with East Tennessee Honor Guard and French Broad Lodge #588 officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening, January 30, 2008 at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beech Springs Baptist Church, 337 W. Mount Road, Kodak, TN 37764, or French Broad Lodge #588, P. O. Box 142, Kodak, TN 37764.
