Donald Ray May

DONALD RAY MAY, age 75, of Rutledge, TN passed away at 5:15 p.m. August 16, 2015 at his residence following an extended illness. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired truck driver from Florida Steel with 35 years of service, and was a Marine veteran, having served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Preceded in death by his wife, Shirley H. May; daughter, Susan Rhoden; parents, Raymond and Ollie Morrison May; brothers, Charlie May, Stanley May, and Ronald “Moose” May. Survived by son, Daniel May of Georgia; granddaughter who he adopted and raised, Kelsey Rhoden, and great-grandson, Quincy Lashawn Rhoden of Georgia; brother, Douglas Mallory and wife, Vicki; special niece and nephew, Robin and Billy Kuykendall; special great nephews, Paul and Nate Kuykendall; several other nieces, nephews, family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Bruner officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 a.m. Thursday morning at Shiloh Cemetery for an 11:00 a. m. graveside interment service with military honors by VFW Post # 5266.
