He was preceded in death by his wife, Harriette McMurray Blackburn; parents, W. E. and Bess Blackburn; and brother, Stanley Blackburn. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Doug Brown; son and daughter-in-law, Albert and Celeste Blackburn; granddaughter and husband, Tracy and Kenny Smith; granddaughter, Abigail Blackburn; great grandsons, Boone, Boyett and Brown Smith; sister, Margaret Herrell; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Felknor and Martha Blackburn; and several nieces and nephews. After service in the U.S. Army in the south Pacific during World War II for 36 months, he returned to run the family farm and dairy. He served as treasurer and elder of Hebron Presbyterian Church for many years. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2005 from the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Dr. Paul Brewer officiating. Graveside interment service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2005 at Hebron Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. prior to the service.
