Don Cate

Don Cate, age 74 of Dandridge passed away at his home Tuesday, June 28, 2016. He worked for East TN Packing Co. for nineteen years and presently at Jefferson County High School for 20 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Perry (Doc) and Ida Haynes Cate, sisters, Molly Snyder, Della Pearl Cate, Fern Cate, Martha Taylor, Anna Belle Chapman, Gertrude Painter, and Vola Mills, brothers Perry, Robert, Jim, Richard, and Cecil Cate, and father in law, Gaston Collins, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Joanne Collins Cate, two daughters, Donna (Ed) Carruth, and Rebecca (Darren), one grandson, Junior Carruth, and one granddaughter, SeoHong Seop, one brother, Ray (Shirley) Cate, one sister, Bonnie Monday, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2016 at Farrar Funeral Home with Stephen Strange officiating. Family and friends will gather at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Cate Cemetery for a 10:00 a.m. graveside interment service. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday evening prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
