Dewey Maloy, Jr. of White Pine, age 85, died peacefully at his home on October 8, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey, Sr. and Georgia Maloy.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Lou Maloy, along with daughter and son-in-law, Tamera and Gregg Harrell, daughter, Tonya Maloy-Wilson and much-loved grandson, Jordan Wilson.
He was a dedicated lifetime member of Beth-Car United Methodist Church where he has served as trustee, cemetery chair and church treasurer. In 2005, Beth-Car United Methodist Women recognized Dewey with the Outstanding Service to God and Church Award for his quiet, humble service that touched many people. He was instrumental in having Beth-Car United Methodist Church recognized as one of Tennessee’s oldest churches in 2014.
Dewey was a 57-year faithful member of the White Pine Lions Club and a Mason.
He leaves behind many friends in town with whom he shared coffee and stories in the mornings as they gathered at Allen Hardware and Sanitary Drug Store.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 11 at Farrar Funeral Home in White Pine with the service to follow immediately. Services will be conducted by Rev. Darrell Chambers and the Rev. Dr. Cynthia Thompson. Interment will be in the White Pine Cemetery on Wednesday, October 12 at 11:00 am.
