DENNIS HOUSTON WHITEHEAD, age 78, of Talbott, TN went home to be with the Lord on January 16, 2019, where he is rejoicing in the Lord’s presence, for the promise that was made to him on the day that he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Dennis, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and devoted friend, was a member of Cedar Hill Church of God and a veteran of the U. S. Army. He retired from Shelby Williams after 27 years of service in supervision. He made many friends along the way by treating people the way he would want to be treated. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Helen (Marshall) Whitehead, and his sister, Linda Gail Whitehead. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 25 years, Dianne (Trent) Whitehead; son, Scott (Vickie Strange) Whitehead; daughters, Carrie (Robert) Holt, Lori (Bob) Grove; granddaughters, Ashley (Derrick) Gibson, Alex Whitehead, and Sidney Grove; grandsons, Layne and Waylon Holt and Chris Black; great-grandchildren, Easton and Emma Grace Gibson; special little buddy, Jaxen Henson; brother, Lawrence (Mary Jane) Whitehead; sisters, Irene Walker, Carolyn (David) Purvis, Brenda Dockery and Nancy (Edwin) Kyte; brother and sister-in-law, Gale (Steve) and Pamela Trent, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Farrar Funeral Home. Military graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday morning at Jefferson Memorial Gardens with Pastor Larry Dye and VFW Post #5266 officiating.
