He attended Ebeneezer Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Preceded in death by wife, Beatrice Johnson Roberts; parents, Nora Holbert Roberts and Levator B. Roberts; brothers, Don, Roy and John Roberts; sisters, Ruth Snyder, Ray Green, Leta Elder and Maybelle Bowman. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Gale and Anne Roberts of Dandridge; grandchildren, Angela Borst and husband, Jim, Christy Tucker and husband, Jeremy; great grandchildren, Will and Drew Tucker, Chelsea and Chloe Borst; brothers, Frank and J. D. Roberts; sisters, Margaret Swaggerty, Naomi Mullins and Doris Wilcox; special neighbors, Bill and Peggy Wilson. The family wishes to give a special thank you to the staff of Hillcrest North. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2008 from the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Reverend David Houser and Mr. Paul Lester officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Monday at Henry's Crossroads Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening prior to the service at the funeral home.
