He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Margaret Tipton; brother, Richard, and son, Michael Patterson. He is survived by his wife and life companion of 33 years, Helen Tipton; brother, Tommy Tipton of New Market; sisters, Charolotte Wilhite of Knoxville, Cindy Burnette of Talbott, TN. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Reverend T. H. Ferrell officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Cate Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service. Pallbearers will be Jay, Cletus, Ricky and David Patterson, Shane Hall, Douglas Music and Gary Shockley.
