David Morris Mills

David Morris (Da-Da) Mills went to his Father on July 15, 2016, in Nashville, Tennessee. A native of Jefferson City, he moved to the Nashville area 8 years ago. David was born June 6, 1954 in Newport, Tennessee. David was a standout Student Athlete in Basketball at Jefferson City High School and Carson Newman College where he consistently was on the Dean’s List for academic achievement. David was preceded in death by his wife, Sherida; his parents, Carl H. Sr and Katherine Mattison Mills; and his brother John (Tony) Mills. He leaves to mourn his passing, loving children, Kathryn Marshael, and Matthew Mills; Mark and Misti; grandchildren Haley, Ricky Rimari Mills-Jones and Sylas Morel; sister, Linda Moore (Paul); brothers, Carl and Joseph (Joey) of Jefferson City, Tennessee. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Jill J. Mills of Roswell, Ga.; and a special friend, Carol Ann Dyer, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. David was a member of Boyd Chapel United Methodist and in later years became an affiliate member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church. In 2011 he rededicated his life to Christ; he was a scholar of Biblical History and the Living Bible. Farewell my Brother – All is well.
