David Denton

David A. (Ducko) Denton, age 45 of Jefferson City, TN, passed away at 9:15 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2003 at the University of Tennessee Hospital following a sudden illness. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge # 61. He served at the rank of Corporal with the Jefferson City Police Department with 22 years of service. He was very active in the Jefferson City Youth Baseball League and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Denton; twin brother, Danny Alan Denton; sister, Dedra Dawn Denton; and brother, Jimmy Darrell Denton. He is survived by his wife, Florence Denton of the home; son, Alan Denton and daughter, Tiffany Denton; mother, Joelene Denton of Jefferson City; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Don Stubblefield of Jefferson City; nephews, Bruce and Phillip Stubblefield; several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives; long time family friend almost as close as brothers, Wayne Hinkle and wife, Jeannie; special friend, Charlie Miller of Jefferson City. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Dr. Sonny Strange, Reverend Rusty Webster, and Reverend John Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens with full police honors. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at Emmanuel Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church Youth Program or Mill Springs Baptist Church Youth Program.
