Broadway Blvd. Jefferson City, TN 37760 Phone (865) 475-3892 Fax (865) 475-9916 OBITUARY: DAVID CLAYTON CAWOOD, M.D., age 69, of Jefferson City, TN passed away on Monday, March 20, 2006 after an extended illness. He was a member of Oakland Baptist Church. Dr. Cawood graduated magna cum laude from Carson Newman College in 1959 and then went on to complete his medical degree at UT Medical School in Memphis. After finishing his training, he returned to Jefferson City and opened his medical practice with his colleague and good friend, Dr. J. B. Sams. He practiced for a number of years and made a great difference in many lives. He will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by his parents, Alvis G. Cawood and Margaret H. Cawood, he is survived by his wife, Jeannie C. Cawood; two daughters, Lisa Cawood Kellogg and Christi Cawood Marsh; a son, David Trinity Cawood; and four grandchildren, Bela Kosa, Blair Kosa, Benjamin Kosa, and David Conner Cawood. Dr. Cawood is remembered by his best friend and fishing buddy, Jimmy Chapman. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at Oakland Baptist Church, with a small service at 8:00 p.m. The funeral will begin at the family home on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Stacey Lawson officiating, and proceed to Jefferson Memorial Gardens for interment. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Oakland Baptist Church, 15050 Lakeshore Road, Rutledge, TN 37861.
