Cora Biddle Horner

CORA BIDDLE HORNER, age 94, of New Market, TN passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Life Care Center of Jefferson City. She was a life time member of Talbott Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher until her health declined. She was an avid reader, gardener and cook, and she took much delight in sharing her talents with others. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Bernard Horner, Jr.; and a daughter, Rebecca McClane. She was the last surviving child of Rev. Jerry F. and Louella Cate Biddle, and her twelve siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn McClane and husband Mike; granddaughter, Amanda McClane Moore; grandson, Matt McClane and his wife, Joan; one surviving sister-in-law, Juanita Biddle of Wartburg; son-in-law, Darrell McClane; many precious nieces and nephews, and a host of friends, and her very special roommate, Ada Greene. The family is especially grateful for the care and compassion she received from the wonderful staff at Life Care. They grew to be her family and she loved and tried to take care of them just as they loved and cared for her. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2016 at Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Snowden and Rev. Terry Sanders officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will gather at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for a 1:00 p.m. graveside interment service.
