CLEONA LAWSON JARVIS, age 94, of Jefferson City, TN, formerly of Kingsport, TN, passed away December 7, 2010 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. She had lived at Chandler House after moving to Jefferson City, where they became her family and friends also. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church but had attended Community United Methodist Church while in Kingsport. Preceded in death by her husband, George Jarvis; parents, Samuel J. and Lula Kleeper Lawson; sisters, Maxie Wilson, Jane Spivey, Jo Phillips, Ruth Lawson and Hazel Lawson; and brother, Rev. Luther Lawson. Survived by sister, Eva Donelson; caretakers, niece, Glenda Lawson Byrd; great-nephews, Gregory (Regina) Byrd, Scott (Carla) Byrd; great-great-nephews, Brandon Byrd, Colton Byrd, Jackson Byrd and Hayden Byrd; great-great-niece, Kendra Byrd; other nieces, Iris Stamper, Barbara Rector, Beverlee Bartley, Scarlett North, Teresa Lawson and Vera Moore; nephews, Don Lawson, Rev. Jeff Wilson, Rev. Rodney Lawson, Melford Lawson, David Spivey; sister-in-law, Mary Alice Lawson; brothers-in-law, Marlin Wilson and Jack Spivey; many more relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 10, 2010 at Oak Hills Funeral Home in Kingsport with Rev. John Pinkston and Rodney Lawson officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service. Family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
