Clell Harrison Quarles

CLELL HARRISON QUARLES, age 66, of Talbott, TN passed away 2:30 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Clell was born July 15, 1941 on the family farm where he still resided. He accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Talbott. Clell loved his Lord, his family, his church and his community. He was a 1959 graduate of Jefferson High School, where he was elected Mr. Jefferson High School. He was a gifted athlete, being drafted by the San Francisco Giants baseball team after high school. He was currently a partner and auctioneer with Wilson and Quarles Realty in Jefferson City. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Lettie Solomon Quarles; sister, Dorothy Quarles; and brothers, Clemis, Hal and Billy John Quarles. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Doris H. Quarles; daughter and son-in-law, Mitzie and John Satterfield of Collierville, TN; daughter, Valerie Quarles Pierce of Charleston, SC; son, Russ Quarles of White Pine; sister, Eloise Quarles Hatmaker of Nashville; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2008 from Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church with Reverend Mel Hawkins and Reverend John Clark officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, January 5, 2008 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Farrar funeral Home in Jefferson City, The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to The American Cancer Society, c/o Mary Ellen Darby, 1321 Laurel Hills Circle, Jefferson City, TN 37760.
