Claude V. Hall, Jr., Lt. Col. (Ret.), age 80, of Dandridge, TN passed away at his home on December 23, 2008 after an extended illness. Colonel Hall retired from the United States Army on July 1, 1973 after 27 years of military service, and was awarded numerous commendations and citations. He also retired from FDIC after 10 years of service. He was a member of Swann's Chapel Baptist Church, and also a member of the Dandridge Lions Club. Colonel Hall was very active in the Dandridge community. He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude V. Hall, Sr. and Fannie B. Thompson Hall; brothers-in-law, Eric Penfold, Colbert Strange, Grady Williams, Thurman Loveday; sister-in-law, Mary Huiting. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Bernice Strange Hall; children, Claude (Buster) V. and wife, Debbie Hall, Cindy Petrous, Denise Price White, Stuart Hall, Susan Finnerty; grandchildren, Meghan and husband, Kyle Flora, John-Claude Hall, Mariah Hall, Justin Price and Danielle White; great-grandchildren, Natalie Flora, Ainsley Flora and Dallas Kent Price; sister, Cecile Penfold; brother, Carl Hall; brothers and sisters-in-law, Warren Strange, Cecil and Dulcie Strange, Martha Loveday, Deloris Williams, Gladys and Bill Sellers and Evelyn Strange; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Swann's Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. John Price and Rev. Randy Haun officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p. m. prior to the service at the church. Military graveside interment service will be Sunday, December 28, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in Swann's Chapel Cemetery.
