Jesus came and escorted Clarence to heaven after a courageous battle against cancer. He was devoted to his family and especially his beloved grandchildren. He loved the Lord with all his heart and trusted Him for his eternal life. He was a member of Mt. Vale Church of God and was retired from the Knoxville Post office. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Preceded in death by his parents, Winfred and Gladys Thomas; sister, Betty Shepherd and brother, Billy Thomas. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Linda Thomas; grandchildren, Hannah Thomas, Daniel Thomas, Kevin Lynn Bull and Mark Bradley Bull; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Lee Romines; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clifton and Katherine Thomas, Robert and Bernice (Flo) Thomas, Ray Thomas, Ricky Thomas, David Thomas; sister-in-law, Fonnie Thomas; and many, many nieces and nephews. Larry Rogers was a great friend to him. His family and friends loved him and he will be sorely missed for only a little while. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2006 at the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Reverend Randy Smith officiating. Family and friends will gather at 1:45 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2006 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for a 2:00 p.m. graveside interment service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
