Clara Ruth Cate

Clara Ruth (Silver) Cate of Knoxville TN, died on Sunday, September 24, 2023. Clara was born August 7, 1932  to the late Ada and Marvin Silver in Jefferson City, TN. She was a baptized believer in Jesus Christ, and a member of West Park Baptist Church. Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Edward Cate, her daughter, Bethany Cate Snodgrass, her son, Martin Hugh Cate, her sister, Betty Silver Watkins, and her brothers, Wayne, Neal, and Bill Silver. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Cate Friar and her husband, Tom. She leaves behind grandchildren: Hugh (Taylor) Friar, Mary Grace Friar, Catelyn Snodgrass, Jake Snodgrass, and great-grandson, Daniel Friar. She is also survived by her sister, Drama Silver Robeson, son-in-law, Scott Snodgrass, and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Jefferson City, TN with Pastor Samuel L. Polson officiating.
