Cindy A. Burke

Cynthia Ann “Shirley” Burke, age 54, went home to be with the Lord October 15, 2019. Cindy will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 20 years, Wayne G. Burke Sr., her mother Mary A. Brown (Irwin), and her sister Jeri Viana (Robert). She also leaves behind 7 children, Kristina Marie Bahrman (Nicholas), Ashley Michelle Leo (Joshua), Amber Elise Nobles (Eric), Dwanye Burke (deceased), Tanya Marie Branden, Everett Wayne Burke (Tiffany), and Wayne Gene Burke Jr. . She will be fondly remembered by her 13 grandchildren, 8 foster children, nieces and nephews, Taylor Rice(Austin) and their son Levi, Ellen Viana, and Robert “Shade” Viana. Cindy was born October 7, 1965 in Greenville, North Carolina. She moved to Jacksonville, Florida at age 4 and attended Sandalwood High School. She joined the United States Navy in 1983 and graduated from McIntosh College in New Hampshire with an Associate in Science Medical Assistance degree in 2005. She received Cum Laude honors with a GPA of 4.0. Cindy loved working in hospitals, nursing homes and private care. She had a gift with children and seniors. Cindy and Wayne shared many adventures camping, hiking and traveling. She especially loved the mountains, roller coasters and her grandchildren. She and Wayne opened a restaurant in New Hampshire in 2003. Cindy also supported numerous Missionaries and was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Dandridge. Funeral service will be held at Grace Baptist Church in Dandridge. The family will gather at the church October 24, 2019 from 12:00-1:00 pm for private time. Receiving friends from 1:00-1:45 pm.
