Christopher William "Spanky" Voiles

CHRISTOPHER WILLIAM ?SPANKY? VOILES, of White Pine, TN, born August 6, 1978, left his earthly home Wednesday morning, April 4, 2012 and entered his heavenly home to be greeted by his Savior and loved ones, including his father, David, who left here January 30, 2012. In addition, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents. Rev. Leonard G. and Mrs. Jo Churchwell, and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Voiles; uncle, Buster Voiles; aunts, Helen (Gene) Paxton and Betty Voiles; and his very special friend and companion of 14 ½ years, his dog, Booker T., on March 30, 2012. He is survived by his loving mother, Carolyn Churchwell-Voiles of White Pine; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Laura Voiles; nephews, Josh Arwood and Brett and Bryce Voiles of Greenville, TN; aunts, Evelyn (Wayne) Hybarger of Mosheim, TN, Louise (Max) Woody of Greenville, TN; uncles, Bill (Kaye) Churchwell of Rutledge, TN, Larry (Doris) Churchwell of Baneberry, TN; step-grandfather, J. D. Patterson of Dandridge, TN; and many special cousins and their families. His extended family was made up of many friends and members of the White Pine Golf Club. He was a graduate of Jefferson County High School, Walters State Community College and was a licensed Insurance Agent. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of White Pine, TN and was employed at the White Pine Golf Club. He began helping at the Club at the age of thirteen and later became a full time employee. He has been the General Manager of the White Pine Golf Club for several years. In 2009, he was voted number one Pro Shop Manager of the Year for the entire East Tennessee Region. He loved people and was always ready to lend a helping hand or encouraging word ? no need too great or too small. He especially enjoyed making himself available by encouraging the young golfers to nurture the love of the game. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the White Pine First United Methodist Church, PO Box 146, White Pine, TN 37890, or to the charity of your choice. A Celebration of Life will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, 2012. Visitation will be held at the First United Methodist Church of White Pine from 3:30 until 8:00 p.m. The service will follow with Rev. Mark McFadden conducting the service, with honorary pallbearers being White Pine Golf Club members and special friends.
