MCCALL, age 93, of Strawberry Plains, TN passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at Life Care Center of Jefferson City. He was a lifelong member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Strawberry Plains. A well known carpenter by trade, he was also a veteran of World War II, having served on the USS Destroyer Gainard from 1944-1945. Preceded in death by his grandson, Bart McCall, mother, father, and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Bertha McCall; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Brenda McCall; daughters, Diane Wilson and Charlotte Bounds, all of Strawberry Plains; grandchildren, Taft Wilson and Peyton Daley; three great grandchildren; brother, Shannon McCall; sisters, Dorothy Langston and Mary Hackworth. The family wishes to express deepest thanks to the caregivers at Life Care Center of Jefferson City. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2006 at the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Reverend Norman Turley officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2006 at Farrar Funeral Home to proceed to Strawberry Plains Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2200 Sutherland Ave., Ste. H102, Knoxville, TN 37919.
