Charles E. Valentine

REV. CHARLES E. VALENTINE, age 82, of Strawberry Plains, TN was sung to sleep to wake in heaven on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was former pastor and member of Blue Springs Church of God in Strawberry Plains. He was called to ministry in 1961 and was an evangelist and pastured churches in Cleveland, OH, Cape Girdeau, Missouri, and Blue Springs Church of God for 20 years. Preceded in death by parents, Matthew and Dora Barnes (daughter of Rev. Tommy Barnes) Valentine; brothers and sisters, Velva Valentine, Virgie Mills, Henry Ervine Valentine and Calvin Valentine. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Billie Jo Fuson Valentine; special daughter, Phyllis Honeycutt of Hawthorne, FL; sisters, Geneva Mills of Brbourville, KY, Elva Messer of Mount Sterling, KY, and Joyce Smith of Melvindale, MI; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives, friends and preachers. Funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Blue Springs Church of God with Rev. Don Ingram and Rev. Phillip Horton officiating. Family will receive friends from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Funeral service will also be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 10, 2011 at Church of God Artemus Road in Barbourville, KY with Rev. Don Ingram, Rev. Phillip Horton, Rev. Sylvester Dunn and Rev. L. L. Collins officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service.
