Charles Gordon Smelcer

Charles Gordon Smelcer, age 65 of Dandridge, TN, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2003 at St. Mary's Residential Hospice in Knoxville. Mr. Smelcer was a retired farmer and was of the Methodist faith. He was the son of the late Charlie and Eldridge Baxter Smelcer. He is survived by his children; Debra S. Anderson of Murfreesboro, TN, Tracy Elizabeth "Betsy" Estepp of Powell, TN, Cynthia Hooks of Powlett, TX, Charles "Chip" Smelcer of Jefferson City, Dustin "Dusty" Smelcer of Jefferson City; six grandchildren, Christopher McCarter, Jared Anderson, Kelsey and Kevin Hooks, Mara Smelcer and Jacob Smelcer; special friend, Shelby Ball. Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2003 from the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Dandridge with Rev. Troy Duncan officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2003 prior to the service. Graveside interment service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2003 at Hills Union Cemetery.
