Reverend Charles Edward Robison, 86, of Talbott, TN, passed peacefully into his heavenly home on August 23, 2017. Born in Carrollton, GA, on July 5, 1931, he had lived in the Jefferson City area since 1994. As a Southern Baptist pastor, he declared the free gift of God's grace his entire life. He pastored churches in Griffin, Georgia; Meansville, Georgia; Orchard Hill, Georgia; Dunlap, Tennessee and Harrison, Tennessee. Most recently, he served Leadvale Missionary Baptist Church in White Pine, Tennessee as their senior pastor, and afterwards as the pastor to the senior adults.
He is preceded in death by his parents, the late Edward and Vernie Robison of Griffin, Georgia. He is survived by two daughters, Priscilla Jefcoat and Donna Rickman, and two sons-in-law, Keith Jefcoat and Jeff Rickman. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Vince Rickman (Jenny), Kathy Conway, and Chris Jefcoat (Jeannie Mershon). His six great-grandchildren are Robyn and Jerrica Rickman; Roy, Matthew, and Briana Conway; and Carrick Jefcoat.
He has been reunited in heaven with the love of his life, Naomi Woodruff Robison, to whom he was married 63 years. He has looked expectantly toward this reunion since she preceded him in death in 2014.
Rev. Robison leaves a powerful legacy of God's grace as he declared it from the pulpit, in everyday conversation, and in two books he authored. In our human sadness, we celebrate his victory in our Lord Jesus Christ, and look forward to seeing him again in heaven.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 25, 2017, 4-7:00 p.m. and the Service of Celebration at Leadvale Baptist Church in White Pine at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Charlie Harkleroad officiating. Charles will be laid to rest in Hillcrest Cemetery on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
