CHARLES WILLIAM HAWKINS, age 66, of Jefferson City, TN left this world to go to his heavenly home on May 28, 2022. He was a member of Woodale Freewill Baptist Church. His faith was very important to him. He was actively involved in the service of his Lord, who he loved dearly. He loved people , never met a stranger, and was a loving friend with a servant’s heart. His career was as a truck driver, but in recent years he enjoyed driving the trolly in Pigeon Forge. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner, both out of Virginia. He was proud to be a veteran of the U. S. Coast Guard, loved his country, and had a patriot’s heart. Preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Agnes Hawkins; and his lifelong best friend, Hurley Mitchell. He is survived by his beloved bride of 21 years, Joyce Lawson Hawkins; brothers, Clinton Hawkins, Jr., Cliff Hawkins (Sharon), and Craig Hawkins; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. He is also survived by many lifelong special friends. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial to the charity of your choice; or if you prefer, a gift of wind chimes would be special to Joyce. Graveside military service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville, TN. Officiating will be Rev. Robert Hobbs, Rev. Lynn Crawford, and VFW Post # 5266.
