Charles Augustus Cleek

CHARLES AUGUSTUS CLEEK, age 82, of Jefferson City, TN died Sunday, July 3, 2011 at St. Mary?s Medical Center in Knoxville. He was born in Kingsport, TN to the late Hagen and Myrtle (Albright) Cleek. Mr. Cleek served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from TVA Electrical Design Division in Knoxville, TN. He was very proud of his time in the Air Force, and greatly enjoyed serving his country he loved so much. He attended East Tennessee State University and the University of Tennessee and majored in electrical engineering. Mr. Cleek is survived by his wife, Jo Ann (Anderson) Cleek; his daughter, Gwen Hatcher; and his three granddaughters, Amanda (Hatcher) McCoy (Josh), Lacie, and Callie Hatcher; his brother, Warner H. Cleek (Marie); sister, Nobeleen Salyers (Donnie); and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, James F. Cleek. He will be remembered by others for his love of family and Cherokee Lake. Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Jefferson City, TN.
