Charles Ray "Cat" Grogan

CHARLES RAY "CAT" GROGAN, age 79, of Dandridge, TN, formerly of Benham, KY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 30, 2008. He was born and raised in Benham, KY, the son of the late Raymond and Roxie Templin Grogan and was a coal miner for over 42 years with the International Harvester/Benham Coal Co. He served in the U. S. Army and the Korean Conflict. Upon his retirement, he and Betty retired to Douglas Lake and Dandridge, TN so that he could pursue his life-long favorite hobby of fishing. Preceded in death by sister, Helen Parker. He is survived by his wife, Betty Funk Grogan of Dandridge, TN; daughters, Geri(Jeff) Overbey of Union, KY and Vickie Patterson of Dandridge, TN; son, Rick Grogan of Dandridge, TN; grandchildren, Chase Grogan, John Overbey, Whitney and Eilzabeth Brogan; sisters, Peggy (Tom) Myers of Jefferson City,TN, and Joyce (Bob) Bryan of Frankfort, KY. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge, TN. Interment to follow at Dandridge Memorial Gardens.
