CELIA MCDANIEL COLLINS, age 80, of Rutledge, TN went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. She was a member of Buffalo Grove Baptist Church, a retired school teacher, having taught most of her career in Grainger County, and was the current president of the Grainger County Retired Teachers Association, a position she had held for the last 14 years. Celia also volunteered as a weather watcher for WATE-TV Channel 6. She was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Collins, Jr.; her parents, Aaron and Stella McDaniel; brothers, Lawrence and Glenn; and sister, Oma Brooks. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and James Wilson of Rutledge; sister, Ersa Jarnagin; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Glynda and Ken Beeler; Ruth McDaniel and Evelyn Collins; a host of family and friends; special friends, Carolyn Yates, Eddie and Ada Davis, Marilyn Ramsey; her roommate, Edna Faye Campbell; and her beloved fur babies. The family will receive friends Friday, December 20, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home. The body will be taken to Buffalo Grove Baptist Church on Saturday to lie in state from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. John Pinkston and Rev. T. H. Ferrell officiating. Interment will follow the service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
