CECIL PLEAS WILSON, age 81, of New Market, TN passed away Saturday morning, October 4, 2008 at Jefferson City Health and Rehab Center. He faithfully attended Oak Hills Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Lute and Estia Wilson; sister and brother-in-law, Maye Wilson Hart and Leroy Hart. He is survived by his niece, Carolyn Hart-Hazelwood and nephew, Dwight and Linda Lakin Hart. Survivors also include several great nieces and great nephews. He had worked for Nic's Foods in New Market for many years. He also enjoyed and took pride in mowing friend's yards and caring for horses. He had many close friends who were "family" to him. This extended family included Hood and Judy Nichols, Jimmy Nichols and Debbie Kerr, Mary Morgan, Imogene and Wayne Gann, Shirley and Larry Monroe and their families. Most recently his roommates and their families at the nursing home became "family" too. These were Billy Cate and daughter, Sherry Kimbrough and James Hurst and his family. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at Jefferson County Rehab Center. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday evening, October 6, 2008 at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson city with a memorial service following, led by the Reverend Rick Doty, pastor of Oak Hills Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held at Hopewell Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Dandridge, Tn on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 11:00 a.m., led by the Reverend Richard Reid, pastor of Talbott Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
