C.H. (Caully Henry) Thomas passed away Thursday morning, February 16, 2017. C.H. was born June 26, 1921 in Jefferson County, Tennessee and was a well-known and highly regarded masonry contractor around Jefferson and adjoining counties for many years. He was also a farmer who raised cattle and farm produce on a 65 acre Century Farm. He and his wife, Trula, were members of the French Broad Church of the Brethren which he helped to renovate and where he served as a deacon.
C.H. was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Trula Wine Thomas, by his parents C.H. (Caully Henry) and Della Thomas, sisters Ida (Zeke Roach), Mabel (Jim Romines) and brothers William, Gene, Hubert (Elsie Marie) and George (Marge). He is survived by his daughter Phyllis Gail (Benjamin Long), son Alvin Carroll (Kay McMahan), grandsons Randall Thomas (Allison), Jerry Thomas (Jennifer), Matthew Long (Mandy), great grandson Davis, great granddaughters KayLee and Jessica, niece Teresa and dear friends Jimmy and Robin Ward and their daughters Jayme and Jessica.
The family will receive friends and guests at the French Broad Church of the Brethren, 3306 Brethren Church Rd, White Pine, TN at 1 o'clock pm on Saturday, February 18. The family visitation will be followed by a sanctuary service at 2 o'clock pm and a brief graveside ceremony immediately thereafter. The service will be performed by close family relation and Church of the Brethren pastor, Revered Ronald Wine. Funeral arrangements are being provided by the Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the French Broad Church of the Brethren, or the charity of your choice.
