CARROLL HOSTETTER, age 98, of Jefferson City, TN, born June 27, 1919 in Alton, KY passed away November 9, 2017. He was a native of Anderson County, KY, the son of the late Frank and Nora Thomas Hostetter. He was a World War II veteran, having served with the U. S. Army in the European Theater of Operations in the 776th AAA (AW) BN. He was a two term member of the Jefferson City Council, a retired office manager and secretary-treasurer of Farris Motor Company, and a member of First Baptist Church of Jefferson City. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Wallene Hostetter; his sisters, Mary Jo Thacker and Nora Belle Meriwether; brothers, Ryburn Hostetter, Frank Hostetter, Jr., Ellis Hostetter and Vernon Hostetter. He is survived by his son Mark Hostetter and daughter-in-law Johanna of Talbott, TN; daughter, Elaine Hostetter and Larry Felts of Nashville, TN; grandson, Patrick Hostetter and Ashley of Louisville, KY; nephews, Larry (Barbara) Hostetter of Mt. Holly, NC, Michael (Debbie) Hostetter of Raleigh, NC; nieces, Judy Link of Lawrenceburg, KY, Sue Sutton of Lawrenceburg, KY, and Lea Ellen (David) Walden of Perryville, KY. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 13, 2017 at Farrar Funeral Home with Dr. Dean Haun and Rev. Richard Carter, MD officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Graveside interment service will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be Verner Hanson, David Young, Russell Turner, Clark Bryan, Johnny Wayne Farris and Jason Farris.
