Carol Ann Thompson Cate

CAROL ANN THOMPSON CATE, age 57 of Maryville, TN, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2004 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center following a battle with cancer. She was born February 26, 1947 in Bristol, TN and was the daughter of the late Wiley and Corinne Hayter Thompson. She was a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Memphis with a B.S. in nursing and was employed as as administrative assistant in the graduate admissions department for the University of Tennessee. She was a member of the Colonial Heights United Methodist Church of Knoxville. Survived by husband, Ed Cate of Maryville; sons, Matthew Cate and wife Mary of Knoxville, Jonathan Cate of Raleigh, NC; brothers, Willima "Bill" Thompson and wife Suzanne of Powell, Ronald Thompson and wife Janet of Lebanon, NH; three nieces; one nephew; and several cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Thompson Cancer Center Foundation, Cancer Research Fund, Attn: Sharon Mullins, 1915 White Ave., Knoxville, TN 37916. Graveside funeral services will be Sunday, 3 p.m. at Seahorns Chapel Cemetery, Dandridge, TN with Rev. Robert Countiss officiating. Family and friends will assemble 2:30 Sunday at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge to proceed to the cemetery for services.
