She was born Carla Umberger on March 28, 1958 at Jefferson City Hospital. She was a graduate of Jefferson County High School, and a member of the Morristown Elks Lodge. Her parents were the late Carlisle and Wilma Umberger of Jefferson City, TN. She worked for First Peoples Bank of Jefferson City, TN, and for Morrison Communications & Printing Co. for the past 18 years. Survived by her husband, Lee Bliss of Jefferson City, TN, and stepson Lyle Bliss of Albany, New York; uncle, Duane Umberger of Morristown, TN; aunt and uncle, Allison and Robert Barker of North Carolina; several cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 15, 2004 at the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Rev. Donny Hankins officiating. Morristown Elks Lodge will hold a memorial service at 7:45 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 2004 to proceed to Jefferson Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside internment service. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. prior to the funeral services at the funeral home.
