CARL L. SNODDERLY, age 87, of White Pine, TN passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, March 3, 2009. He was born March 28, 1921 in Union County, TN, the son of the late Gaines and Ella Hamilton Snodderly. He was a life long resident of Jefferson County, having been raised in the Piedmont Community. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U. S. Navy with the Naval Construction Battalion Seabees. He was a retired supervisor of the fabrication department for American Enka after 35 years of service. Carl was an active member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of White Pine, member of the White Pine Lions Club, White Pine Volunteer Fire Department, and the American Legion. He was known for his many acts of kindness toward others through his involvement in many civic and community affairs. Preceded in death by sister, Ollie Albright; brothers, Frank Snodderly and George Snodderly. Survived by wife of 62 years, Eula Rinehart Snodderly; daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Bobby Gorman of Knoxville, Karla and Steven Martin of Dandridge; grandchildren, Laura Gorman Redman and husband, Bill of Kennesaw, GA, Robby Gorman of Austin, TX; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Rose Redman; brothers, Earl Snodderly of Johnson City, Ross Snodderly of Crossville, James Snodderly of Dandridge; sister, Lois Ketner of Morristown; several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers, love and concern during their time of loss. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of White Pine with Rev. Bryan Osborne officiating. Interment graveside service with military honors will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
