He was a former foreman with Ruth Construction Company, a retired heavy equipment operator, and a Mason. He enjoyed fishing and having a good backyard grilled steak. He was a family man who put God first in his life. Preceded in death by father, A. J. Ruth of Fort Myers, FL, and mother, Grace Emily Terry Ruth Stewart of Owenton, KY. Survived by wife of 53 years, Janet E. Ruth of New Market, TN; sons, Dane and wife, Olena Ruth of Denver, CO, and Gary and wife, Tina Ruth of Princeton, WV; grandson, Alec Jefferson Ruth of Princeton, WV; brothers, Sonny and wife, Valerie Bennett of Frankfort, KY, William E. Ruth and wife, Rowena of Knoxville, TN, Steve Stewart of Owenton, KY; sisters, Judy and husband, Chuck Picklesiemer of Owenton, KY, Georgia and husband, Sam Stewart of Georgetown, KY, Carolina Stewart of Arizona, Mary Stewart of Worthville, KY, Sue Ruth of Florida; many nieces, nephews, friends, and a multitude of brothers and sisters in Christ. A celebration of eternal life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008 at New Vision Ministries in White Pine, TN with Pastor Tony Collins officiating. Graveside inurnment service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2008 at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Owenton, KY.
