CARL R. NEWMAN, age 79, of Jefferson City, TN, who was born and raised in Dandridge, TN and formerly lived in Amellia, VA, passed away Monday, November 23, 2009. He was an employee of J. H. Martin Construction Company for 43 years and attended Mullins Chapel Church. Preceded in death by parents, Charles and Andrea Newman; wife, Louise Shaffer Newman; grandson, Joseph; sisters, Joyce Walker, Myrtle Mae Wise and Juanita Loveday; brother, Joe Newman. Survivors include daughter, Katherine (Michael) Tatum; grandchildren, Daniel, Jennifer, Andrew and Phillip; great-grandchildren, Logan, Jaden and Aubree; sisters, Roberta Dalton and Rowena Lowe; brothers, Roy, Charlie, Nelson, George and James Newman. Graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Swanns Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Eddie Hitten officiating.
