Carl Carter Hodge

Mr. Carl Carter Hodge departed this life at Tennova Hospital in Knoxville on Sunday, January 8, 2023, after a lingering illness.  Carl is preceded in death by his parents, Carter Jr. and Juanita Hodge; sisters, Darlene Hodge Russell and Kathleen Hodge; and brother, Johnny.

Carl joined Martha Davis Baptist Church at an early age. He attended Jefferson Elementary and Jefferson County High School. He joined the Job Corps where he studied painting. He later moved to New York.  Carl loved playing basketball. 

He leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Sparkle Logan; siblings, Pat Marable, Charles (Trina) Hodge, and Mary Ruth Hodge; grandchildren, Nevaeh, Nyla, and Navion; nephews, Tyrone (Margie) Hodge and Johnny (Celsey) Hodge; nieces, Trinity Hodge, Jaquann, Ja’King, Ka’Moni, Jayla, and Jaleigh Hodge; sister in-law, Janice Hodge. He also leaves to cherish his memories a host of cousins and friends. 

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2023 atWestview Cemetery with Rev. Nathaniel Wilson, Jr. and Rev. H.R. Mills officiating. Date and time for the service will be announced later.
