TAFT WHITE, age 95, a native and lifelong resident of Dandridge, TN, died March 3, 2005. He was co-owner of Schrader & White Trucking Company and also a farmer before his retirement. He was a member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II in the 814th tank destroyer battalion. Preceded in death in 2002 by his wife of 65 years, Lorene Schrader White; his parents, Samuel and Hettie White; a brother and four sisters. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Charles S. and Sandra R. White of Knoxville; grandson, Marlin K. White of Knoxville; sister, Helen Denton; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2005 at Mt. Zion Methodist Church in Dandridge, TN with Reverend Wendell Shepherd and Reverend John Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
