C. D. McClure, age 73, of White Pine, TN, passed away at 6:30 p.m. on Friday evening, January 3, 2003 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare Center following a brief illness. Mr. McClure was a member of Leadvale Baptist Church and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the US Army. He was the recipient of the "Tennesse Volunteer of the Year" in 1998 and was well known and loved for his volunteer music entertainment for the nursing homes and hospitals locally and in all of the surrounding states. He was the son of the late Robert and Lula McClure and was also preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy and Marie and brothers, Russell, Raymond, Charles and James. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Mrs. Margie McClure of the home; son, Daonald Ray McClure of White Pine; special granddaughter, Teresa Lee and husband, David of Alabama; grandson, Frankie Lee McClure of Wisconsin; sisters, Anna Lee Spivey of Ohio and Virginia Peters of Florida; brother, F. T. McClure of White Pine; special niece, Virginia Nicely of Kentucky; and several other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening, January 5, 2003 from the Leadvale Baptist Church in White Pine with Rev. Charles Robison, Rev. Mike Hensley conducting the service. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday evening prior to the service at the church. Family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. Monday morning, Jan. 6, 2003 at the funeral home and proceed to White Pine Cemetery for an 11 a.m. graveside interment service.
