He was the former police chief of Jefferson City. Preceded in death by parents, Haskell and Dicy Ellison Kyte; son, Gregory Edward Kyte; sister, Eva Rebecca Kyte. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Kyte of Dandridge; sons, Steve and wife, Linda Kyte of Louisville, Lannie and wife, Kathy Kyte of Dandridge; grandchildren, Selena and husband, John Stout of Louisville, Christa Stuart and husband, Mickey, of Knoxville; brother, Myrl Kyte of Dandridge; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at the Farrar Dandridge Chapel with Reverend John Thompson and Dr. Robert McCray officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:30 Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at the funeral home to proceed to Hillcrest Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service.
