BUDDY C. (BUD) GANN, age 82, of Jefferson City, TN gained his wings Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Fort Sanders Medical Center. He was a member of Friendsview Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. and Ethel Walker Gann; brothers, Frank (Agnes), Jim (Kathleen), June (Jessie Rae), and Bill (Margaret); sisters, Myrtle (Calvin) Marks and Liz (June) Purkey; daughter, Pam Gann Carlyle; grandson, Buddy Jones; sons-in-law, Samuel Jones and Tommy Carlyle; and the most wonderful mother-in-law in the world, Virginia McDaniel Gann. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Betty Jean Gann; daughters, Vicky Jones and Tammy Lee; grandchildren, Josh (Jennifer Williams) Gann, Casey (Heather Stokely) Jones, Steven and Emily Spratling; and his number one granddaughter, Nicki Spratling Walker; sister, Mary Evelyn Smith; five great-grandchildren, Alyssa Cox, Kaitlyn and Jacob Gann, Eli Hembree, and “Z-man” Xander Jones; son-in-law, Rick Spratling; special nephew, Frankie Gann (Linda); and several nieces and nephews. Bud was an avid fisherman and golfer. He was a Mason and a member of the JCLL Sports Hall of Fame. He was president of LL football, baseball and softball for many years. He also coached for many years. Some of his fondest memories were coaching with Tex Davis, Leroy Shannon and Bill Quarles. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Farrar Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2021 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
