BARDING, age 74, of Jefferson City, TN passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at his home after a long battle with cancer. He was a life-long farmer and served thirty years with the Tennessee Department of Forestry. He was a member of Magna View Baptist Church. Preceding him in death are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Barding and brother, Bruce Barding. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, June Barding; children, Michael and Cindy (Barding) Parton, Linda (Barding) Longmire, and Danny Barding; former son-in-law, Derald Longmire; and former daughter-in-law, Pati (Cate) Barding; grandchildren, Josh and Marideth Longmire and Metina Longmire, Jessica and Jannifer Parton, and Andrew and Emily Barding; sisters, Beatrice Canter, Odessell Eller, Sennie Lou Martin, all of Morristown, and Doris Moore of Lewisburg, TN; brothers, Blake Barding of Whitesburg and Bradco Barding of Morristown; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Mary Lynn Helton and children; and special friend, Robert Rhinehart of Chattanooga. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 17, 2006 from the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Reverend George Miller, Reverend Charles Mills and Reverend Scott Cline officiating. Graveside interment service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2006 at Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday prior to the funeral service.
