Boyce F. Bailey, (Daddy Bo) age 88, of Strawberry Plains, TN went to be with the Lord Dec. 15, 2011. He was employed for thirty seven years with the Asarco Zinc Mines and was also the Secretary-Treasurer for the Union for several years. He was a member for many years of First Baptist Church of Strawberry Plains. He was also a member of the Order of Odd Fellow Lodge. Boyce was a U. S. Veteran, where he served in the U. S. Army in World War II. He drove a Half Track Truck in the Battle of the Bulge, serving under General Patton?s command. He is preceded in death by his parents, Amos F. Bailey and Ola ?Mom? Bailey Newman; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roy and Roberta Cook and Anice Ogle; several nieces and nephews. Survivors include his wife of sixty six years, Vivian Brooks Bailey; son & daughter-in-law, Gary and Kathy Bailey of Michigan; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Steve Grigsby, of Kingston; four grandchildren, Kari Grigsby Townsend and husband Justin Townsend of Fort Walton Beach Fl., Keena Grigsby Inman and husband Johnny Inman of Crossville, Timothy Bailey and Lisa Bailey of Michigan; five great grandchildren, Collin Townsend, Landon Townsend, Sydney Townsend, Alexie Inman and Jackson Inman; sister, Hazel Harrell of Knoxville; brother, Austin Newman and wife Elizabeth Newman of Myrtle Beach SC; sister-n-law, Jewell Hux and husband Bob Hux of Strawberry Plains, Carolyn ?Corky? Brooks of Knoxville, Marvin Ogle of Greenville. Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18th at First Baptist Church of Strawberry Plains with Reverend Brock Webster and Reverend Sam Grindstaff officiating. Receiving of friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the church. Graveside immediately after the service at East View Cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers: Lynn Townsend, Collin Townsend, Landon Townsend, Johnny Inman, Jackson Inman Austin Newman, Honorary Pallbearers, Men?s Sunday School Class and Special Friends, Robbie Hardin, Tucker Witt, Mack Cole and Randall Barnard.
