Bonnie Ruth Hance, age 89, of Jefferson City, TN passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at her home after a brief illness. She was a former Civil Service employee for the United States War Department, Army Service Forces, Corps of Engineers for the Manhattan District Projects of Oak Ridge National Laboratory during World War II and retired from Carson-Newman College after 28 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith. She is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert W. Hance; father and mothe,r Charles and Bertha Sellars; brothers, James, Charles, Carrol and Neil Sellars; sisters, Lucielle Newman and Hazel Chambers of Jefferson City, TN. Survivors include sons, Garry (Linda) Hance of Kingsport, TN, Larry Hance of Jefferson City, TN and Harry Hance of Talbott, TN; grandchildren, Charles Hance of Kingsport, TN, Larry Hance, Jr. of Jefferson City, TN, Kelly Hance and Holly Hance Kirby of Jefferson City, TN; great granddaughter, Alexa Jean; brother, H.L. Sellars; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Albert Zimmerman of Clinton, TN; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2011 in the chapel of Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Epps and Rev. Kyle Cate officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2011 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for a 2:00 p.m. interment service. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.
