BONNIE JEAN CHOATE, age 84, of Jefferson City, TN went to her heavenly home on Thursday, February 11, 2016, after a brief illness. On the same date in 2005, her beloved son, Richard also went to be with the Lord. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jefferson City for 51 years, where she was a member of AGAPE Sunday School Class. She was also a 49 year member of Holston Chapter No. 384 Order of Eastern Star. She was a former employee of White Stores, Inc. and White Way Variety Store in Jefferson City. She was also an employee of Jefferson Cocke County Gas Utility District for 22 years. Preceded in death by husband, Elvis Clyde Choate; daughter, Charlotte Jean Hance; son, Richard Wayne Hill; son-in-law, William Roy “Bill” Farrar; parents, Willis Elmer and Effie Elizabeth Williams; brothers, Willis Lamar Williams, Jerald Williams, all of Crossville, Alabama and Huntland, Tennessee, James Williams of Granbury, Texas; sisters, Shirley Williams, Jeanette Walters of Memphis, Fay Scott of Winchester, Tennessee. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Choate Snyder and husband Scott; step-son, Robert Clyde “Bob” Choate of Jefferson City; grandchildren, Kelly Wayne Hance, Holly Michelle Hance of Jefferson City, William Clay (Will Seth) Farrar of New Orleans, LA; great-granddaughter, Alexa Jean Young; step-grandson, Alex Choate of Moorpark, CA; brothers, Raybon and wife Sheila Williams of Wildwood, GA, Doug Williams, Roger Williams and wife Patty of El Paso, Texas; son-in-law, Harry Wayne Hance; several special nephews and nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p. m. Monday, February 15, 2016, at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gene Wilder and Rev. Bill Rosser officiating. Family and friends will gather at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at the funeral home to proceed to West View Cemetery for a 2:00 p.m. graveside interment service. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
