Bobby Eugene Courtney

BOBBY COURTNEY, age 85, of New Market, TN passed away at his home surrounded by family on November 16, 2024. He was a great, loving husband, father and papaw. He had a lifelong passion for farming and spent much of his time enjoying that. He was also an active member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church, where he served as Sunday School teacher as long as he was able. Preceded in death by his parents, Nay and Mary Alice Courtney; brothers, Marvel, John and Connie; and sister, Rosa Lee. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Wanda Courtney; children, Stanley Courtney (Donna), Jeff Courtney (Michelle), and Deborah Tomm; grandchildren, Joe (Siera), Matt (Catie), and Evan (Katie) Courtney, Alex and Dylan (Jersey) Tomm; great-grandchildren, Ella, Ana Beth, Tessa, Brilynn, Lyza, Jackson and Liam; brother, Truman Courtney (Ruby); sister-in-law, Bennie Mae Courtney; brother-in-law, Lawrence Roach; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Farrar Funeral Home. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 a.m. on Friday morning at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service with Rev. Steve Polk officiating.
