Billy Joe Rush

Billy Joe Rush, age 70, of Jefferson City, TN passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. He was a member of Cedar Hill Church of God. Former employee of Magnavox and Jefferson County Sanitation Dept. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Vietnam conflict. He is preceded in death by parents, Harley and Lula Rush; father and mother-in-law, Harley and Audria Owens. Survived by wife of 47 years, Margaret Darlene Rush; son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Missy Rush; son, Marcus Rush; grandchildren, Haylee, Alex, Destiny, Alyssa, Morgan, Mark, Jacey, Ally, Jamie, Josie, Miguel, Neil and Chelsea; great grandchildren, Paxton, Corbin and Payton; brother, Bob Rush; sister, Faye (Johnny) Proffit; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018 at Farrar Funeral Chapel with Rev. Sean Watson and Rev. Charles Shipley officiating. Family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5-7 pm prior to the funeral services. Family and friends will gather 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018 at Farrar Funeral Home to proceed to Jefferson Memorial for an 11:00 am graveside interment with military honors by Morristown VFW Post # 5266.
