Billie "Bill" Gene Wayman

BILLIE GENE “BILL” WAYMAN was received into heaven on May 28, 2023. He was born October 28, 1927 in Benton, IL. He retired from the United States Postal Service, and was a Korean veteran who served and loved his country. He loved his family, enjoyed gardening and retirement. He was a member of Mt Carmel Baptist Church who loved the Lord and all his neighbors on Branch Lane. Preceded in death by his wife, Marie Wayman; parents, Glenn and Matilda Wayman; brother, Richard Wayman of DuQuoin, IL; and sister, Mary Furlow of Christopher, IL.  He is survived by his son, Albert Wayman (Wanda); daughter, Cindy Griffey (Donny); grandchildren, Kristy Knipper (James), and Ransom Wayman; great-grandchildren, Carson and Ava Knipper; brother, Norman Wayman (Debbie) of Chicago Height, IL; brother-in-law, Kenneth Furlow of Christopher, IL; sister-in-law, Virginia Wayman of DuQuoin, IL; several nieces and nephews. Military graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery with eulogy given by Tim Fawver, his Sunday School teacher and friend.
